Born in New Orleans, LA raised in the foothills of Rutherfordton, North Carolina (small town friendly) since the age of 3. I grew up playing outside, and doing backflips on trampolines. When I wasn't I was taking cassette players, remote controls, or anything electonic apart and putting them back together. Ultimately, this lead to me taking up Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology as a major at Western Carolina University. There, I found my passion for programming, and met my wonderful wife. Who I now have 2 handsome young boys with.
After college we moved to Charlotte, NC where I worked my first development job @ ChristianSteven Software. At this small company I had to get hands on with every aspect of the software we built. From ideation to delivery, database design to installer, support with on-going enhancements, for roughly 5 years. During that time, I created countless products (mobile, and web) for friends, businesses, and myself. However I had my fill working mostly alone had gotten an itch to work with a larger group of people. I was lucky enough to get a nice job working at Ally Bank, and there I learned a ton from a very talented group of Web Architects. CSS Animations, syntactical HTML, ADA compliance, JS compilers, TDD, Progressive Design, Git and the list goes on and on. The only reason I left was because at the time, me and my wife were finding out our then 3 year old son Aiden, was Autistic, and I wanted to spend more time with him before he started school. A decision I do not regret, and it's been awesome watching him grow.
Now working for CertaPro® Painters, for over 5 years, I've merged both of those skillsets together. I work within Marketing's Digital department and IT world. With the help of vendors, I'm responsible for over 400 franchise websites. I manage the hosting, creation, deletion, page-templates, DNS changes, and the lead form codebase wich brings in over $500,000 per day peak season. On top of that, I created a fully functional and robust dashbaord that works to connect all databases, and make endless data readable, updatable, and maintainable for our internal team, franchise body and vendors. Creating this product was a summation of my skillset as it embodied everything I've worked on and solved many businesses needs for a lot of people in the organization.
This is where my passion resides. Finding out what is needed and using whatever fits the bill to get it done.
